Our day the the Ekka..... 08/08/08

Well on Friday we braved the crowds at the Ekka.. Despite my reservations and not wanting to actually go at first, I ended up having a really, really good day.. I really enjoyed myself.. Kayne was really well behaved mostly, and only had a couple of mini meltdowns which was good.. Mum, Dad, Brendan and Kyle came with James, Kayne and I, so we had a really good day/afternoon. Firstly we headed off to Sideshow alley, which was great, but the most stressful. Kayne wanted to go on every ride, even the Insanity and all those sorts of ones, but handled being told No very well. He was able to go on a fair few rides though, and went on the Simulator, the Rocking Tugboat, The Haunted House ride, the Crazy Coaster, Clown House, Bumper Cars, and a few other kiddie rides.

After sideshow alley we headed over to the Animal Pavilion, Kayne really enjoyed looking at all the animals, like the cows, horses, dogs, poultry etc. We looked at every fucking animal there is.. It was as boring as bat shit, but Kayne and Kyle enjoyed it, and I was able to wonder around cause James was there running after Kayne the whole time. It was good having someone sharing the parenting with for once, it was nowhere near as stressful. We also looked around the International Food Stalls before going to the arena and watching the shows, which was interesting.

Then we braved the crowds in the Show bag pavilion to stock up on Ekka crap. Kayne had been saving up for a couple of months to get his show bags, so got the Ben 10 show bag, and the Ninja Turtles show bag, I also got him the mega show bag, and some cheap chocolate, lolly and chip bags. I got myself the Bertie Beetle bag, and the Extreme bag, which had an awesome new tongue bar and labret, which is awesome! WooHoo!

After that we had dinner at the pub, and went and watched the Monster Trucks, the beaut utes and the Motocross, Kayne went NUTS! He absolutely loved, loved, loved it!! Then the fireworks! So it was a great day/night. I'm so glad James came, we kinda looked a bit like a 'family'.. Well anyhoo, thought I'd share some photos!
